Mandalay : Tingaza Kyaung & Eindawya Pagoda & Royal Palace
This is a beat up old monastery and is not on the route of the big attractions since it was not swarming with tourists. It is one of those "jewels" that if you are lucky you can find in trips. Although old, the 2 monks living in it keep it on the best way their old age permits.

"I was a boxer once" (Mandalay, Myanmar)
While doing the touristy things I stumbled in this old unassuming Monastery. The place isn't very well kept when compared to more glorious sites but one reason to visit is the very friendly Monk. He went out of his way to show us around, to tell that he was a boxer once and to show the intricacies of wood work in the place. Fantastic to meet him and for sure one of the best memories of my time in Myanmar.
