Ladies Market in Hong Kong is quite a contrast from the glitz that HK really is. Filled with vendors on both sides of the road it makes for a great opportunity for street shooting. Amazing place to visit but the day I visited was apparently "bring your typhoon out".
Sadly when I got there it was pouring rain and since I still haven't mastered the art of juggling umbrellas and cameras while shooting and dodging people it was a bit of a challenge to get the shot I wanted. Good thing both my Olympus camera and lens are weather proof.
The plastic covers on the top of the tents plus the rain add a chaotic retro feel to everything. Kinda cool if you ask me. If the bases of the umbrellas would be lit then it would look a lot like Blade Runner.
I have say that the vendors were not that happy either with customers who were only interested in photographing their products and not taking anything home. The result was that I bought, after tons of haggling, a cap that resembles Mao's communist one.
And no, I have no idea why is it called Ladies Market.
And remember, all images from this post are for sale either under the Portfolio section or just by clicking on the photo you would like and going for the buy button. By purchasing one (or many!) you are supporting this website to continue. I appreciate your help. :)
Thank for your visit and I hope you enjoyed what you saw. Don't forget to share with your friends.
